Based in New Orleans for several years, she covered food and culture for The New Orleans Times-Picayune. Her story on Hubig’s Pies, a small fried pie company in New Orleans, won an award for Best Business Writing from the New Orleans Press Club.
Katie started her career as a graphic designer in the ASME-nominated art department at New York Magazine. She grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, graduated from Dartmouth College, and now lives in Brooklyn with her husband, son and cat.
